STEVIN ROCK ACQUIRES LARGEST CATERPILLAR HYDRAULIC SHOVEL IN REGION TO INCREASE PRODUCTIVITY

Stevin Rock LLC is pleased to announce the acquisition of a brand‐new CAT 6020B hydraulic shovel that was officially handed over on Tuesday 22 January 2019 to Mr. Naser Bustami, General Manager of Stevin Rock LLC, by Mr Bob De Lange, Group President of Caterpillar Inc., and Mr. Issam Al‐Bahar, Chairman of Mohamed Abdulrahman Al‐Bahar, the official dealer of Caterpillar in the United Arab Emirates.

This will be the largest Caterpillar hydraulic shovel operating in the region and it comes as the final piece of 26 units recently purchased by Stevin Rock from Al‐Bahar, including a CAT 993K wheel loader, CAT 349D excavators and CAT 775G haul trucks for its Khor Khuwair quarry, one of the largest in the world, with a production capacity of over 60 million tonnes per year of high quality limestone.

These acquisitions, together with other major developments, are in line with Stevin Rock’s vision to maintain and build on its position as one of the largest quarrying operators in the world.

The CAT 6020B will be used to load rocks onto Stevin Rock LLC haul trucks, helping to further improve efficiency through its larger shovel load capacity.
